Your Flows already have the hierarchical relationship between the germs and it's sub-germs. While you mark a sub-germ as actionable or set a due date, germ.io makes life easy for you. Certain things that you need to keep in mind are:

  • To complete a parent germ, you need to complete all of it's sub-germs.
  • If you have sub-germs that have due dates already set, germ.io shows you automatically that, the due date for a parent germ can't be earlier than the due dates of it's sub-germs.

In the case of the screenshots on this page, the sub-germ (Get 10% Conversion Rates) was scheduled to be due on August 15th. That means the earliest you could hope to complete its parent germs would be August 15th.

When you set the due dates of the parent germ now (Acquisition: 5000 local app downloads), you will notice that the earliest due date you can choose is at August 15th.

The parent germ can't have its due date before August 15th since it is dependent on the sub-germs for completion.

Similary, if you have already set the due date for a parent germ, this would also become the latest date by which its sub-germ could be due.

If you have a germ which has due dates set on both its parents and its sub-germs, you automatically get the permissible date range by which this germ should be due.

Tip: If you have a strong theory to back you to not go ahead with one of the germs, you can mark your germ as Not Taken.
